Ezra is ONE!

Throughout the day, I was recollecting what I experienced a year ago. It seemed like it all happened yesterday. Time really, really flies. My baby is one!!!

I've always wanted to have kids, but nothing I could do would prepare me for this. Every day is a new experience of joy and laughter and sometimes frustration.

A new phase as began. A phase of exciting (yet scary) time of learning and growth. Ezra learns very quickly, when he wants to. He likes to mimic others. It took him a few seconds to learn to 'blow' (a candle), although not much air comes out, hah! He quickly learned to peek through the hole in his toy but takes ages to learn that he is not supposed to touch the fan - oh, my stubborn boy!

I pray that God will help us raise Ezra to be an obedient and God-fearing child. I pray that God will give me discipline, wisdom, patience and lots of love for my family. I pray that God will keep everyone safe and healthy so we can serve him for many days to come. Amen.

Ezra goes to Penang!

As my birthday gift (i think), Julia and Kelvyn brought us to Penang for a vacation!

Off we went on the morning of the 7th, with Ezra coming down with a mild flu. Our flight got slightly delayed, so I decided we should get some medication at the clinic. Well, unfortunately I didn't think to buy travel insurance this time (I wonder why! It just didn't come across my mind at all!), the bill came up to $70+ and he didn't even get better after taking them! Lesson learned! Always buy travel insurance for the little guy and never visit the clinic at the airport.

Well, besides the delayed flight and expensive medical fees, the trip went very well, with lots of good food and company. Mum and Michael came along as well. I think the last time I took a trip with my mom was ages ago, so this is a good time to bond, and for her to bond with Ezra as well since she doesn't get to see him very much. I was thankful that there was someone to take over because I was rather tired at times.

We had lots to eat, as expected... Jalan Selamat for Char Kway Teow in the afternoon, then Gurney Drive at night... Nasi Kandar for lunch the next day and great seafood with Kelvyn's family for dinner... on my birthday, we had Bah Kut Teh for breakfast, Chicken Rice and awesome Asam fish soup for lunch, Chendol for dessert and a fantastic chinese dinner. Before we headed to the airport, we downed some Old Town coffee and tea, and more local food. Of course we did some sightseeing as well, Penang Hill on the 2nd day and the Peranakan House on the 3rd.

I really enjoyed the company of my sis, Kelvyn and my mom during the trip. I am thankful for Kelvyn for driving us about and introducing the great food and sights, and for being able to spend more time with my mom (although not very much, actually, cos we were in separate cars).

I will definitely go back to Penang again... maybe next year! :)
